35_ What if you just said yes and gave the mind gremlins the day off

What If You Just Said Yes and Gave The Mind Gremlins The Day Off?

Allowing (more) is something that most of us are still learning to do more and more fully.

All the clients I have seem to demonstrate that, so I’m pretty sure it’s something that all of us could practice regularly.

Getting good at saying ‘I’d love some help’, or ‘thank you for this, is generous and kind of you’ means that you are able to own where you are at, and/or are recognising your own vulnerability and stating your need even though it feels uncomfortable as a chia seed stuck between your teeth.

Last week I had a major realisation, and thankfully was ‘caught’ by one of my life angels. When the offer came of some support, I didn’t hesitate. I said yes and THEN felt the discomfort. In the past, I’d have done it the other way around; I would have dithered, and either lost the opportunity (80% of the time) or not even allowed it to be offered in the first place.

Last week, I did neither. I listened as someone offered me some coaching, and because I trust her, I just said thank you, I’m so glad you see me, I’d love the help.

This is one of the things I do. I help people get courageous in the tiniest of ways. They begin to make progress again. They see the wood for the trees. They relax and suddenly start winning at life again.

Last week someone offered me that kind of lifeline and I am pleased to say I just took it. I said yes in the moment. No hesitation, no second guessing, no over thinking. Well, not in that moment anyway. These three all popped their heads around the proverbial corner and I had to shoo them away – because the deed had already been done.

This week, I invite you to do your best to say ‘yes’ to something you usually say no to, or take the help that someone’s offering, even if it’s to carry a bag, or let you into the queue ahead of you. See how it feels. Consider doing it more often if you like it. You get the idea.
