Is Your Morning Environment Set Up to Help You Win?

If you do 2-3 small things that are easy to do, you’ll create a winning streak to keep you going

They say that doing two or three things well, first thing, can set you up for the day. I buy into that, because it’s something I set up as an experiment about 9 years ago. I’ve not looked back. Starting the day ‘winning’ is something that sets me up for a good day, because I just move from success to success. I’ve learned that making those wins really small and fast to do works well (for me, and for others that do this).

Somewhere in the move from the last house to this house, I misplaced my little vitamin box. It’s one of the habits that really works for me. It’s been puzzling me for about 6 days now, just where it could be, and it’s had me out of sorts. It means that my routine hasn’t quite been followed.

You see, a lot rides on this little box. It’s one of my ‘instant wins’ of the day and one that perpetuates how ‘successful’ I am on the day. Opening up that little lid daily creates an easy winning streak that I can the continue for the day. Taking a vitamin (or whatever supplements I’m currently choosing) AND drinking my first glass of water of the day is a total win-set. So, you can imagine how off putting that’s been for the last little while. It’s meant I’ve had to get more conscious about getting a different 2 – 5 minute win in, but it’s also meant that my mind has been allocating energy to the background activity of being on the look out for said box.

This morning, I’m glad to say I found it, hiding in a box that it must have fallen into. It feels like finding an old friend, and I’ve now put it where I know I can use it with ease, every day, to help me create the winning streak.

This week, I’m inviting you to have a look at what creates repeated wins that set you up for your day. If you haven’t got one, put something in. Whether that’s always stretching out your body before brushing your teeth, or folding up your PJ’s so they are not inside out for when you get in them later on, or writing your list of gratitude whilst the kettle is boiling. Anything small, and preferably 2-3 small things, that help you have that ‘yup, I did that, I’m on fire’ feeling. Because let’s face it – we’re humans and humans love to achieve or ‘win’. And ANY small win, is still a win.

So, what does your morning winning streak look like?
